Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm was certainly not at a lack for self belief ahead of what is building up to be one of the most hotly anticipated Bundesliga games in recent memory.
The Bavarian giants host the surprise package of the season at the Allianz Arena knowing that all eyes are on them waiting for a shock to happen.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim currently occupy top spot in the Bundesliga with Bayern three points behind them in second place meaning that the result of Friday’s game could very well have a huge bearing on who finishes as champions.
“We intend to demonstrate who’s meant to be top – and that’s Bayern Munich," Lahm boomed on the club's official website. "Now’s the time to send out a signal."
When asked whether the fact that Hoffenheim arrive in Munich as the top scoring team in the league, the side-back countered: “It’ll be tough for Hoffenheim to adapt to us. We’re extremely good up front.”
