There has been rising speculation of late linking the Bayern captain with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer, with a return to his homeland on the cards.
Earlier this week it was reported that his former club PSV were keeping tabs on the situation, and van Bommel has now confessed to being ecstatic to hear these reports.
"It delights me that PSV are interested in me," Van Bommel told Omroep Brabant.
"But I have a talk scheduled with Bayern Munich next month and after that my future should be a lot clearer. Until then, it's all speculation."
He went on, "I'm glad that PSV want me back. I played there for six years, and that means they were satisfied with me, that they see in me a player who can help the team.
"It's now a question of waiting and seeing how everything develops."
It has long been known that Van Bommel intends to finish his career in Holland, but a move back to PSV could come sooner rather than later.
"Of course that's what I said when I left the club," he continued.
"PSV are a fantastic club, the greatest club in Holland. But we'll have to see what happens. Bayern are the first party for me to speak with, and after that we'll see."
