Klose: We Ran Around Like Headless Chickens

Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose made no attempts to gloss over his side's display as they contrived to give up a two-goal lead away to lowly Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Bayern took a 2-0 lead at the Borussia Park against traditional foes Borussia Mönchengladbach with goals from Luca Toni and Franck Ribéry, only for the home side to fight back to 2-2.  Bayern missed a few opportunities to seal the three points before Rob Friend and Michael Bradley levelled the scores in the space of 120 seconds with just ten minutes remaining.

"We lost our cool and ran around like headless chickens instead of holding firm. The stadium went berserk after they pulled one back," commented Klose.

"Maybe we thought we'd done our job after going 2-0 up, although to be honest, everything pointed in that direction. But at the end of the day, we've paid heavily for that attitude."

Philipp Lahm was equally nonplussed in his post match comments. "You can't be 2-1 up and then suddenly find yourselves outnumbered in your own penalty area, that's not on," he seethed.

"Perhaps we thought we were home and dry and didn't concentrate hard enough. We had the match under control and we made chances, but we didn't kill the game there and then. Then you let in a goal, and it's always going to be hard here after that.

"I think Jürgen Klinsmann will find the right words. We had a huge opportunity to take all three points here, but instead it's a case of dropping two."
