Skipper demands improvement if the Brazilians are to lift their ninth Copa America crown, with Ecuador clash imminent

Brazil captain Lucio has said that the team must improve their performances in the Copa America if they are to win the title in Argentina.

After successive draws against Venezuela and Paraguay, the Selecao go into their final group match against Ecuador on Wednesday knowing that another tie could spell the end of their campaign and an embarrassing first round exit.

According to Reuters, Lucio told reporters at Brazil's training base outside Buenos Aires: "No one is happy with these results.

"We know the quality of players we have in this squad, we must show much more, more seriousness and more commitment to the Brazilian national team shirt.

"Each one of us has to be looking for an improvement and understand that you have to give a bit more of yourself because we are not getting the results."

The Inter defender, who has made 101 appearances for Brazil, is eager to add to his trophy collection, which includes the 2002 World Cup and 2010 Champions League title.
