Brazil internationals Elano and Fred took the positives from their side's 2-2 draw against Paraguay in the Copa America in which the tournament favourites snatched a point with two minutes left thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser.
Goalscoring hero Fred, who popped up with the late goal, stated the draw felt more like a win and told reporters: "Given the situation with a goal right at the end, I think this was a great result. Of course, we did not expect this draw but we are still alive in the competition.
"The other teams will get better and it will become tougher. Now we have to find improvements ahead of the last game in order to ensure that we qualify."
Santos midfielder Elano was pleased with the mental resolve Brazil showed to fight back in the closing stages and enthused: "We led 1-0 but unfortunately we conceded twice. But I think the team responded well.
"We have to improve but we are on track. We must now have some peace in which to work and get better."
Fellow midfielder Lucas echoed the sentiments of his colleagues that the team can go up a few gears after some sloppy errors against Paraguay.
"The goal at the very end was really good,” he said. “It is clear that we have to improve - we recognise that.
"We tried everything to win. Two mistakes on our part led to goals for Paraguay. Then we went on the attack. We still have one more game."
