Argentina announce squad for qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia

The two-time World Cup winners name their 21-man squad for March's 2014 World Cup qualifiers and hand a first international call up to Monterrey defender Jose-Maria Basanta
Alejandro Sabella has named his 21-man Argentina squad for their upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifying games against Venezuela and Bolivia.

There is a surprise inclusion for 28-year-old Monterrey defender Jose-Maria Basanta, who could gain his first cap for his country. The selection comes in light of news that the Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini could be out until May.

The Albiceleste squad includes Angel Di Maria but he will miss the first match through suspension.

Wigan forward Franco Di Santo is amongst the players in the squad along with Manchester City duo Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero.

Argentina play Venezuela on March 22 in Buenos Aires, before going to Bolivia on March 26.
