Argentina striker Sergio Aguero says his side's win over Colombia in November 2011 was the turning point in the team's 2014 World Cup qualification campaign.
The Manchester City forward scored the winning goal in Barranquilla, as Alejandro Sabella's team came from behind to record a 2-1 victory.
Since then the Albiceleste have not lost a competitive match and are now top of the CONMEBOL qualifying group.
"We went to Colombia and rwe were all in agreement about what was going on. Each of us put in a little more effort than previously and that really helped us," he told reporters at a press conference.
"Sometimes words go with the wind, but that day, what we said was reflected on the pitch and it really gave us a good result.
"This is why we must stay the same and not give up, because football is football and one day you're up there and the next you're down."
Argentina are three points clear of second placed Ecuador and have an eight-point advantage over Venezuela, who occupy the final automatic qualification position.
