Messi is the best player of all time, says Carlos Bianchi

The 63-year-old believes the Barcelona star's consistency makes up for his lack of success with his country, and feels the game will never see a player of his quality again

Former Argentina international Carlos Bianchi believes that Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the greatest player the game has ever seen.

Many have questioned the 25-year-old's claim to that title due to his failure to find success at international level, but his compatriot feels that his consistency puts him above all others.

"I see him as the best player of all time," he told La Garganta Poderosa.

"People to say to me: 'He's not a world champion', but Messi plays a game every three days and he is great every time. If he does not score, we miss it.

"We have to be aware that before us is a player the likes of which we will never see again, for his performances and his consistency."

Messi, the current captain of la Albiceleste, has scored 31 goals in 75 appearances for his country.
