The 26-year-old was in high spirits after Boca Juniors earned a dramatic late point against River Plate and paid tribute to the attitude of his team-mates
Cristian Chavez revelled in his side's never-say-die attitude after they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with their arch-rivals on Sunday.
Goals from Leonardo Ponzio and Rodrigo Mora put River 2-0 in front, but Santiago Silva's 76th minute penalty and a late Walter Erviti strike earned Boca a dramatic point.
“We are happy to have got a draw at the end, we earned the points in Boca-style,” Chavez told reporters.
“In the dressing room the manager said they had run the game for 45 minutes, and now it was our turn."
The midfielder then took the opportunity to take a swipe at the Buenos Aires club with a mischievous statement.
“The truth is that River can’t beat us, and they will have to wait another six months to try again," he added.
