Gonzalo Higuain pleased with Argentina performance in 4-1 victory over Chile in 2014 World Cup qualifier

The Real Madrid forwards discussed the performance of the national team and the hope of continuing their fine form next week
Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuan was ecstatic with his team's performance in Conmebol's opening matchday of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers as the home side destroyed Chile 4-1 in the Monumental in Buenos Aires.

The Real Madrid hitman bagged a hat-trick and also provided an assist for Lionel Messi and Higuain was pleased that his national side got off the qualifying campaign on the right foot.

"This has just began, but it's great to start off on the right foot," he told TN.com. "We are leaving happy and hope the fans are too.

"A win like this at the beginning of qualifying allows you to have confidence. It was very important to start with a victory, and having done that this convincingly, more so," Higuain added.

“We are very pleased with the performance, but we need to keep along this track to achieve what we want.”

With three points in the bag, Argentina will look to double their total against Venezuela on Tuesday.
