Independiente prepared to sell Patricio Rodriguez for the right price - report

The Rojo will place a price tag of €10 million on the 21-year-old playmaker, allowing him to leave if a suitor can match their valuation
Independiente are reportedly prepared to sell Patricio Rodriguez as attention from Europe intensifies, but only if a club made the Rojo an offer they could not refuse.

The 21-year-old has been in electric form over the second half of the Clausura, scoring brilliant goals against Olimpo and Colon as Independiente have racked up three straight wins to remove themselves from relegation danger.

The club are keen to keep 'Patito', even though they have claimed in the past that there are several top European clubs interested in taking the little playmaker across the Atlantic. Ole, however, report that Rojo directors have now placed a price tag on Rodriguez's head, and if a suitor can meet their valuation he will be allowed to leave.

According to the newspaper €10 million would be enough to force the directors' hands and entice them to release 'Patito'. The player himself, a tricky, direct number 10 with excellent talent with the ball at his feet and no fear of scoring goals, has stated that he would be tempted by a move abroad.

"One never knows, if an offer arrives it may suit the club, and it may suit me as well. These are things that I don't control and which aren't down to me. If I am to stay though, I would do it with pleasure," Rodriguez had told reporters just over a month ago when quizzed over his future.

Independiente have declined to release the names of the clubs reportedly following their most valuable player.
