Struggling Independiente boss Dany Garnero brushed off the whistles and jeers he received from fans at the end of Saturday's loss to Arsenal de Sarandi, which consigned the Rojos to bottom place in the Apertura with only one point.

Independiente went down 2-1 at home to their Avellaneda rivals, leaving them without a win this season. The fans registered their disappointment with the current regime, and finished by chanting for Garnero's predecessor Americo 'Tolo' Gallego. In the post-match press conference however Garnero insisted that the fans' taunts would not get to him.

"It does not hurt me when they ask for Gallego. I don't feel anything, I feel indifferent to it. I want to win and I want the best for the club," Dany fired on Sunday afternoon.

"The fans can say whatever they please. El Tolo is the club's last trainer, he is a fans' favourite and I have to take my hat off to El Tolo Gallego."

And Garnero was on the warpath again as he switched his target to the Argentine FA's scheduling of matches. Independiente played at 1.30pm on Sunday, despite having had to compete in the Copa Sudamericana on Thursday night.

"Today we had to play the first game of the day when we we coming from playing in the Copa on Thursday. Racing and Olimpo close the round [later on Sunday]... are they playing for something?" the coach wondered aloud with a heavy hint of sarcasm.

"I bet that our next game will be set for 9.30 in the morning!"
