Boca Juniors coach Claudio Borghi refused to blame his players for drawing 1-1 with Godoy Cruz in his debut in charge of the Xeneixe, insisting that given the changes at the Bombonera a tie was a good result in Mendoza.

Lucas Viatri secured a draw for the away side after Matias Gimenez had gifted Godoy an early opener. 'El Bichi', however, absolved Gimenez of his error, speaking in the post-match press conference.

"The goal was due to a lack of match practice and being out of rhythm. [Gimenez] got to the ball well, controlled it and then he was beaten," Borghi stated, as he prepared to spend two days in Chile with family after driving eight hours to Mendoza.

"We tried to win the game, but you have to take into account two things: it was the debut of many lads - even if they are professionals, playing in the Boca shirt is something special - and we had to reverse the score if we wanted to win."

Five players made their debuts for Boca yesterday evening, and fans also welcomed back Sebastian Battaglia from a knee injury which had kept the 29-year-old out for over nine months.
