Leandro Romagnoli: I'm Not San Lorenzo's Saviour

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder admitted that he doesn't need such pressure on his official presentation...

San Lorenzo's latest acquisition, Leandro Romagnoli, rejected claims that he will be the club's saviour next season, when being officially revealed as a player of the club after five seasons in Europe.

"There is no saviour or player who can win one match or a championship. If everyone is well, we will pull for the same direction and will form a good group, surely things will go well," said Romagnoli.

The 'Pipi' affirmed that he is after titles in his latest stint at San Lorenzo, and that his ultimate dream is to win the Copa Libertadores with the club, a title that they have never managed to lift.

"We know that in order to qualify for the Cup we have to do well in the championship," admitted the 28-year-old.

Having won the Clausura Championship of 2001 and two international titles with San Lorenzo - the Copa Mercosur in 2001 and the Copa Sudamericana in 2002 - the former Veracruz and Sporting Lisbon midfielder stated that "what was achieved in the past won't be recalled by anybody if things don't go well now."

Romagnoli won't be available for selection against Atletico Tucuman for the first round of the Argentine Apertura Championship. He will only be ready to make his San Lorenzo debut in between 15-20 days.
