Luis Zubeldia, the coach of Lanus, praised Eduardo Salvio for his outstanding display in the 2-1 victory over River Plate in the Copa Sudamericana on Wednesday, at the Monumental stadium.
"Salvio is a player with great potential, one of the best of Argentine football. He has lots to improve, I don't let him relax during the week and I hope he continues to grow," said Zubeldia.
Salvio scored two goals in the final ten minutes as Lanus came from behind to defeat River in a tense Copa Sudamericana opener in Buenos Aires.
"He has everything, in this match against River he played on the wing, after as a striker. In Argentina, with a line of three in attack he can play in the middle.
"He is smart but his height isn't beneficial to him. Overseas [in Europe], with other types of markers, he can play on the extremes, as a midfielder or a striker. The most important thing is that he always has an eye on goal, no matter in which position he plays."
In reference to the performance of his team, Zubeldia expressed his "satisfaction for the victory", but he affirmed that his team "can still improve."
