Huracan Boss Angel Cappa Congratulates Argentine Champions Velez Sarsfield
The gaffer was left frustrated after his team were beaten to the championship on the final day of the season...
Angel Cappa, the coach of Huracan, congratulated Velez Sarsfield after they were crowned Argentine Clausura champions at the Jose Amalfitani stadium on Sunday.
But even if he congratulated his team's opponents, he argued that the match referee, Gabriel Brazenas, didn't have a good performance, and that this was one of the reasons why his team lost the match 1-0.
"The kick [from Joaquin Larrivey] to [Gaston] Monzon could be seen all the way from Tigre's field. The referee made a big mistake, but he didn't do it on purpose," said Cappa.
Cappa also affirmed that Huracan should have gone ahead in the first half, after Eduardo Dominguez found the back of the net with what seemed to be a legitimate header.
"The goal from Dominguez was very clear, but the referee disallowed it. But it is true, the referee is only human," he said.
Finally, the coach added that his team congratulated Velez, as they always should, and that they will look forward to winning the championship next season.
"We congratulated the [Velez] players and that is it. We have to try it again next season," Cappa concluded.
