Maradona Refuses To Cast Aside Real Madrid's Higuain
The Argentina head coach has commented on the reason why the Real ace has been left out of his squad plans...
Maradona has plenty of attacking solutions at his disposal and has surprisingly preferred the likes of Gonzalo Bergessio and Lisandro Lopez over Higuain.
The former Napoli star has now indicated that Higuain currently has no place in the squad, but hinted that a call-up might be possible in the future.
"About Pipita [Higuain], the day I have things clear to call him up, I will," Maradona told La Red, without explaining what those things are.
"For that position I have very good players, but it is not the time. But I do not rule him out in any way."
Maradona has also commented on the situation of Boca Juniors' Juan Roman Riquelme, who has refused to play for his country under the new boss.
"He [Riquelme] is available for call-up, but he will have to adapt to what I want, instead of me adapting to what he wants.
"I am not with the whip and I am not going to ask him to come to make me win the matches, because we have to win them between us all."
