Mario Bolatti (23), is on the verge of returning to Argentine football with Avellaneda giants Independiente after one season in Europe.
With the confirmation that Adrian Calello will move to Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb, Independiente will secure a loan deal for the FC Porto midfielder.
Another player who could join Independiente is Newell's Old Boys captain Rolando Schiavi. Miguel Santoro is keen on the experienced centre-back.
Meanwhile, Independiente's bitter rivals Racing Club are also in negotiations with their current squad members and possible reinforcements.
It seems that Maximiliano Moralez will remain at the club for the Clausura Championship, while they are likely to sign Colon de Santa Fe striker Ruben Ramirez.
Racing are also hoping to sign another midfielder, a defender, and possibly a backup goalkeeper, as they intend to be competitive next season.
