On Friday Carlos Ischia gave his vote of approval to his former chief, Carlos Bianchi, to take over the Argentine coaching job vacancy. The Boca Juniors coach added that Diego Maradona would be his second preference.
"In my opinion there is only one man for the job. If I had to choose somebody, without any doubt, it would be Carlos Bianchi. Because I know him from working nine years together, and much earlier before that as well, when we were teammates," stated the actual Boca Juniors coach.
During a press conference in the afternoon in Casa Amarilla, Ischia praised Bianchi "as a professional and a person. I can give a list of the virtudes which Carlos has."
If Bianchi isn't elected, Ischia admitted that he would like it if "Diego Maradona" would be given the opportunity, because of "everything he can transmit."
"For everything he has given to the national team when he played, for what his name represents in Argentina and around the world. If it was for me to decide, Carlos first and Diego second."
When asked if he would like to return to being the assistant of Bianchi, but this time with the national team, Ischia stated: "I'm working with Boca, I enjoy it a lot. God will decide, because my contract ends in December, like everyone knows, and I don't know what will happen in the future. After it is decided, we will see. But to work with Carlos, some day, no one can discard it," he concluded.
