The 22-year-old is not surprised by the Giuseppe Meazza side's good start, yet believes Juventus are the favourites for this weekend's league clashJuan Jesus has insisted that it is normal for Inter to be fighting for the top spots in Serie A following their fine start to the 2013-14 campaign.
The Nerazzurri currently sit joint-first in the league table after wins over Genoa and Catania, but the Brazilian is not taken aback by their good performances so far.
"I'm not surprised. It's quite normal for us to be in this position because Inter deserve to be up there challenging for the big prizes," the Brazilian defender told Rai Sport 1.
"Walter Mazzarri is doing a brilliant job with us all and we want to keep going the way we are."
The 22-year-old then went on to discuss this weekend's Derby d'Italia against Juventus and admitted that the Scudetto holders start the encounter as the favourites.
"Juventus have been playing together for three years and they have plenty of belief in themselves.
"They're rightfully down as favourites because they've won back-to-back titles."
