The Brazil international joined the club from their city rivals in September for a fee of €9.1 million, and is hoping to help them to a wave of success.
"In all matches, either starting or on the bench, I give my best. I need to give a great performance like before. I want to help Sao Paulo to win a lot of trophies," he told reporters.
"Supporters expected much of me. Everybody knows my quality."
He went on to say that he can accept being left on the bench coach Ney Franco and will work hard to break into the first team.
"I have to respect the decision of the coach and my team-mates who are doing very well. With every game I play I gain more confidence."
