The official revealed that the Brazilian team are interested in the former Internacional striker, but stated that everyone at the club should remain patientCorinthians president Mario Gobbi Filho conceded that the Timao are keen on signing AC Milan's Alexandre Pato and compared transfer talks to dating a woman.
The Brazilian attacker is reportedly unhappy at San Siro and there have been rumours that the 23-year-old threatened to quit the club in November.
Corinthians are said to be leading in the race to acquire Pato's services, but Gobbi called for patience as the club tries to bring the attacker back to his native country.
"It is like when you want to date a woman, you talk and find out where she lives. Then pick up the phone, chat with friends, see what she likes, find out if there is interest," the president told Globo.
"Then invite her for dinner and hope that goes well. Suddenly, you need to invest in other dinners to succeed. Only then it turns into dating and you eventually take a bride home.
"There was talk and there is interest, but we are staying calm. I cannot speak for AC Milan and rumours like this mess with the fans feelings," Gobbi concluded.
