Botafogo's Fellype Gabriel praises Seedorf contribution

The attacking midfielder hails the Dutchman's impact after his double in Sunday's clash with Corinthians

Botafogo midfielder Fellype Gabriel has hailed Clarence Seedorf after the Dutchman scored twice in the 2-2 draw with Corinthians at the weekend.

The 36-year-old midfielder joined the Brazilian side in the summer after a 10-year spell at AC Milan and Gabriel was quick to highlight the qualities he feels Seedorf has brought to the side.

“Seedorf is a very smart guy,” said Gabriel, who claimed an assist for the playmaker’s opener on Sunday.

“We were sure that this adaptation would be quick. This is a guy who is dedicated to the fullest and is always improving.

“He has a very good reading of the game. He is an experienced guy, he reads the game very fast and it makes things easier.

“He is a very objective player, always looking to make moves towards goal. The opportunities are appearing naturally. He is a player that works hard for these opportunities arise within the field.”

Sunday’s draw took Botafogo above Internacional into 6th in Brasileiro.
