Ganso: It's a dream to join Sao Paulo, I'm very happy
The playmaker is proud to be at one of Brazil's footballing institutions and sees the club as the perfect place to showcase his "skills and personality"
Ganso has praised Sao Paulo's staff and great history as he expressed his joy at being part of the renowned Brazilian team.Speaking at his first official press conference, the former Santos star drew a record crowd to the Morumbi as he was unveiled to fans, saying the metropolitan club has been very open and welcoming.
"My feelings are the best possible, I'm very happy," Ganso told reporters.
"The way I've been welcomed by the players, the staff and Sao Paulo's employees was great. This club seems the right place for me to show my skills and personality.
"It's a dream for every player to join a huge club like Sao Paulo. I'm a devout Sao Paulo fan now, and I'm looking forward to repaying all this reception on the pitch."
The 22-year-old is still recovering from a muscle injury to his left thigh suffered from during a match against New Zealand in the Olympics this past summer.
The Brazilian playmaker does not know when he will make his debut for his new team, but said that he wants to take his time to ensure a full recovery.
"I still can't say when [my debut] is going to be. I still have to regain 100 per cent of my fitness to be back, and I want to be secure about it.
"I'll do my best to be back on top form, to play the game as I'm used to and be able to represent this great club as it should," he explained.
