The 22-year-old's future at Vila Belmiro has been a hot topic of debate in recent weeks after he rejected the club's proposed contract extension, with reports suggesting he wants more than twice the salary on offer.
It is believed that DIS, the company which owns 55 per cent of Ganso's playing rights, is interested in securing full ownership of the player before selling him to Internacional, who are after a new creative midfielder after selling Oscar to Chelsea earlier in the week.
The Brazil international, who is away on international duty at the Olympic Games, has indicated that he is happy with life at Santos, but Ribeiro does not guarantee that the player will stay.
"We will talk again after the Olympics, at the suggestion of DIS," the Santos chief told Globoesporte. "They made their demands about a new contract knowing we would not accept them, but they said they were just laying the groundwork for negotiations to start.
"They have two choices: pay his release clause or make an offer which pleases us. Perhaps DIS will pay the clause, they are interested.
"Internacional? I do not care where the money comes from. I do not have any preference, as look as the money is in our bank account.
"I think Ganso has just as many chances to stay at Santos as any other player. I am calm. He has a contract until 2015 and he needs to play for other clubs to be interested and make generous offers for him.
"If he under-performs, he will be rated by the market as a player who does not perform like everyone expected. So our interests and his interests go hand-in-hand.
"No one from Internacional has contacted Santos or the player. But it is clear they would like to have someone like him."
