The veteran defender has been impressed by his new surroundings, and has praised the club's ambition as he prepares to help them secure some silverwareJuan is confident that he can succeed with new side Internacional after opting to rescind the remaining year of his contract with Roma in favour of a return to his native Brazil.
The 33-year-old spent the last decade in Europe on the books of Bayer Leverkusen and the Giallorossi, but insists he does not see Brazilian football as a step down.
"I followed Brazilian football closely even when I was in Europe, and I know Internacional have won many major titles in recent times," the centre-back declared to reporters at his official presentation.
"This was my last opportunity to return to playing at home and so I studied the club's offer with great interest. This group has a good mix of experienced players as well as talented youngsters.
"Internacional are a very strong team and is now further strengthened. I'm hopeful this union will take us to more titles. My ambitions to win have only increased over the span of my career."
Internacional have also acquired the services of Uruguay international Diego Forlan from Inter this summer.
