Santos' Muricy: Neymar is one of the top five players in the world

Santos coach Muricy Ramalho has indicated that he rates Neymar as one of the top five players in the game.

The 20-year-old has developed into one of the world's most sought-after youngsters since breaking into Santos' first team in 2009, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea all believed to be keeping tabs on the player.

Neymar has declared that he will not leave his homeland of Brazil before the expiry of his contract with Santos in 2014, and Muricy does not think that a spell in Europe is required for the player to feature amonst the world's finest players.

"Neymar is an outstanding player," he told TV Globo. "He is already one of the top five players in the world, along with [Lionel] Messi, Xavi, [Andres] Iniesta and Cristiano [Ronaldo].

"He will be just the way he is when he is 30 because that is just his way."

Muricy stressed that he is not mulling over Santos' 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Club World Cup final, a match in which the Brazilian outfit were completely outplayed.

"I am not upset because we lost against the best team in the world," he added.

"On that day, they played better than they usually do, and we played poorly. The distance [between the teams] got a lot bigger in that sense."
