Ganso denies being jealous of Santos team-mate Neymar

The Brazilian starlet has refuted suggestions that he is jealous of his compatriot and insists that he has no intention of moving to Europe in the near future
Paulo Henrique Ganso has slammed rumours that he is envious of his Santos team-mate Neymar, who has seen his star rise over the past year after being heavily courted by the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who has a contract with the Sao Paulo-based club until 2015, emphaised his strong friendship with his club-mate and revealed that he will ask him to become the godfather of his son.

"The rumour has made me upset because it never happened," Ganso told SporTV News.

"It made me upset because people always say there is a jealousy between us, but I think if we have that true friendship, like a brother and a friend, it's because we never let it interfere with anything," he added.

The talented duo have been constantly linked with moves to Europe over the past year, but Ganso reaffirmed his commitment to Santos, stating that he is only concentrating on doing well for the club.

"To make everyone comfortable, especially the Santos supporters who think I will go, in contrast to the reports, I'm very focused and very clear on what I want," he said.

"I'm now at Santos, I'm performing very well, honouring the No. 10 shirt as I always have and that makes me more comfortable to return to the Selecao as well."

National team coach Mano Menezes has included Ganso in the Brazil squad to face Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly on 28 February.
