Santos have confirmed that Jorge Fucile is to sign for the club on loan from Porto for a year and that Danilo will move in the opposite direction.

Fucile has been heavily linked with the Club World Cup finalists in recent days and the club confirmed on Tuesday evening that an agreement had been reached with the player’s Portuguese employers.

As for Danilo, Santos had already agreed to sell the player to Porto for a reported fee of €13 million.

However, the deal had seemingly stalled over money Porto allegedly still owed to Santos in relation to the acquisition of Alex Sandro and it was reported last week that the Brazilians would not allow the deal to go through unless their rivals agreed to loan them Fucile in return.

However, according to Santos’ official website, both deals will be completed in a matter of hours.

Fucile has not featured for Porto since March and has also been rumoured to have attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain as well as Roma and Lazio.

The Uruguayan defender's existing contract with the Estadio do Dragao outfit does not expire until 2014.
