CSKA Moscow's Vagner Love is on his way to Flamengo, says club president

After months of uncertainty, the chief of the Rio institution believes that Love's transfer will be confirmed shortly while the player himself is also optimistic
CSKA Moscow forward Vagner Love could be a Flamengo player by the end of the week, after the Brazilian club's president affirmed that he was on his way to sealing a deal with the Rio de Janeiro giants.

The 27-year-old striker's transfer has been drawn-out for months between Russia and Brazil, with Vagner and Flamengo repeatedly stating an interest in renewing their relationship without a concrete bid being accepted by the Russian outfit.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, however, Fla president Patricia Amorim gave the strongest hint yet that a resolution was close.

"Love is on his way [to Flamengo], he is close," the chief stated in declarations published by Globoesporte. The striker, questioned while at a party to celebrate the New Year in Rio, gave a similar statement of faith.

"Everything is on the right track," he commented.

Flamengo are expected to seal a transfer worth €6.2 million with CSKA, who signed Vagner Love in 2004 from Palmeiras.
