Ronaldo has been asked to become the chairman of the World Cup Local Organising Committee (LOC) by Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Ricardo Teixeira, according to O Globo.
The LOC is the group given the task of organising the 2014 competition, which is to be held in the South American nation, and has been chaired up until now by Teixeira himself.
However, the 64-year-old has been surrounded by controversy in recent months with accusations of bribery and fraud surrounding him.
Teixeira has come under particular criticism from former Brazil striker Romario, who has suggested that those involved in alleged corruption deserve to serve time in jail.
The offer to become LOC's chairman was made to Ronaldo on Tuesday at a formal dinner and Teixeira is supposedly keen to hear the former Real Madrid forward's answer sooner rather than later.
