Shakhtar Donetsk star Fernandinho has made it clear that Brazil are aware of the high expectations of their fans ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
The 26-year-old midfielder has stressed that he and his team-mates are keen to prove their worth at the 2013 Confederations Cup.
And while he admits there is a lot of pressure on the Selecao to succeed in both tournaments, he believes Mano Menezes' team are on the right path to achieving glory.
"We want to be on top form for the 2013 Confederations Cup. That’ll be our first big test in front of our fans. Expectations are really high ahead of the World Cup and the players can sense that. We don’t want to let people down in 2014," Fernandinho was quoted as saying by fifa.com.
"I think the team’s started getting it together and growing in stature. Everyone, from the people already in the team to the new guys coming in, has been helping each other out.
"The midfielders are getting forward to attack and the forwards are dropping back to defend. That’s the only way and I think we’re on the right track."
Brazil are currently preparing for an international friendly against Egypt on Monday.
