The young Brazilian playmaker conceded he has high hopes for his talented team-mate, while stressing he does not plan on leaving his current club before 2013 rolls around
Neymar is the only player who performs in the Brazilian league to make the 23-man shortlist for the Fifa Ballon d'Or award.
Earlier in the month, retired striker Ronaldo claimed that Neymar would be regarded as a 'top three' player if he was at Real Madrid, and Ganso has now indicated that he believes the 19-year-old will soon reach that level.
"I believe Neymar will be one of the best three players in the world some day," Ganso is quoted by AS as saying. "He has the talent, that is for sure.
"He does not stop improving, he plays a kind of football that is filled with joy, one which everyone knows very well."
Ganso himself has been frequently tipped to move to Europe, but the 22-year-old playmaker put a dampener on transfer talk.
"I am happy at Santos, I am under a contract and the club's centenary and the Fifa Club World Cup are coming up," he noted.
"The truth is that I am not thinking about leaving Santos in 2012."
