Brazil sensation Neymar has once again demonstrated his admiration for Barcelona's Lionel Messi, while affirming that he has a long way to go if he wants to reach the level of his Argentine rival.
The 19-year-old is currently in San Jose with his international team-mates, where they will take on Costa Rica on Friday night in the nation's capital. Neymar and co. received an enthusiastic welcome to the country, who have not hosted the five-time World Cup winners for over 50 years.
And speaking on Thursday, the striker was quick to correct reporters when it was suggested that he is one of the best players in the world.
"I still have a long way to go in order to achieve that, the best is Messi," the Santos man insisted, echoing similar comments made after his goal helped defeat a domestic Argentine side 2-0 in Belem.
The youngster also had high praise for international team-mate Ronaldinho.
"I have felt very comfortable alongside Ronaldinho, I have played just three or four games with him but there is no doubt that he is a star. So for me, it is an honour to have him at my side," he enthused.
Brazil will kick off against Costa Rica on Friday evening at 20:00 local time (04:00 CET).
