The former Brazil coach believes that Porto's striker can succeed Il Fenomeno if he continues to impress at the Portuguese club

Former Brazil coach Dunga has declared that he thinks Porto striker Hulk can fill the shoes of Ronaldo for the South American side.

The powerful striker has been left out of coach Mano Menezes' Brazil squad for the upcoming Copa America due to the player having Neymar and Robinho ahead of him in the national side's pecking order.

Dunga, who gave Hulk his first senior cap for Brazil, believes the Porto striker can assume the role in the national squad which belonged to the now retired Ronaldo.

"Ronaldo was a player like no other, but his place in the national squad is still there," Dunga told newspaper Record.

"Therefore, Hulk can become his successor. He is not alone in that race, there are several players who can get there, but he has the necessary quality to impose himself in that fight."

The former Brazil coach added that Hulk can even become a regular part of Brazil's setup ahead of the 2014 World Cup, saying: "If he continues playing at Porto like he did last season, he will certainly start playing more regularly before that competition. Now, it will all depend on himself and on how he progresses," Dunga stated.
