Rubin Kazan have released their Brazilian attacking midfielder Carlos Eduardo to recover from a knee operation back in his homeland with old club Gremio, Goal.com Brazil reports.
The South American had surgery on his knee in March and instead of heading back to Russia to recover with his club, officials have granted the player permission to return to Port Alegre and get back to full fitness.
Eduardo rose through the youth ranks at Gremio to star in the 2007 Copa Libertadores, where the Brazilian club reached the final of the competition before losing out to Boca Juniors.
The left-sided midfielder moved to Hoffenheim that summer for a fee in the region of €8 million, where he spent three seasons, playing 80 times for the German club, before moving to Russia in August 2010.
