Reports from Brazil suggest that the Ronaldinho transfer saga could finally be coming to a long-awaited conclusion, as the Milan star moves closer to a move to Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo.
Lance reports that following a meeting on Monday Flamengo officials reached a verbal agreement with the player and his agent/brother Roberto De Assis for Ronaldinho to start the 2011 season in the famous red and black strip of the Brazilian club.
Lawyers of both parties are currently dealing with the fine print and paperwork involved in the transfer, but privately Fla staff believe that this will be a formality, and an official announcement could be made as early as this evening.
If all pans out as expected the 30-year-old playmaker will join his new team-mates in the Parana city of Londrina, where the Rubro-negro are currently preparing for the new season and the upcoming Carioca Championship.
Copacabana beach is already being mooted as a possible setting for his official presentation later in the week.
