Report: Inter Defender Maicon Ruled Out For A Month

The Brazilian sustained a thigh strain on international duty and will miss the crunch match with Juventus on April 11.

Maicon - Walter Ayoví - Brazil- Ecuador

Inter right-back Maicon limped off after just 20 minutes of the World Cup qualifier between Ecuador and Brazil last Sunday. Scans have revealed he suffered a second-degree right thigh strain that will keep him sidelined for at least one month.

The setback means he will not be available for the big clash against Juventus on April 11, although it is suggested he could return to action at the beginning of May to face Lazio at the Stadio San Siro.

Inter will travel to the Stadio Friuli at the weekend to take on Udinese. Coach Jose Mourinho could decide to recall Brazilian left-back Maxwell and switch youth product Davide Santon into his natural role at right-back or simply move captain Javier Zanetti into the defensive line, in which Walter Samuel and Cristian Chivu are tipped to start in the centre.
