Semak will miss Europa League clash with Twente and start of Russian season as broken metatarsal means he is out for six weeks...
It's a big blow for Italian coach Luciano Spalletti who has Tomas Hubocan, Nicolas Lombaerts, Aleksandr Kerzhakov, Aleksandr Bukharov, and Vladimir Bystrov all out with injuries.
A statement on the club's official website reads, "The medical examination to Sergei Semak, injured on March 6 during a match in the Super Cup of Russia, has unfortunately revealed a fractured metatarsal bone. Preview for his time of recovery is between four and six weeks."
Semak thus misses the start of the Russian season, as well as Zenit's Europa League clash against Dutch outfit Twente.
