Official: CSKA Moscow Sign Young Boys Striker Seydou Doumbia
The Ivorian hitman will join CSKA in the summer of 2010...
Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow have completed the transfer of highly rated Young Boys attacker Seydou Doumbia. The Champions League hopefuls have confirmed the deal on their official website.
The 22-year-old Ivory Coast star has signed a five-year deal at the Army club. Doumbia will stay at Young Boys until the end of the season before making the move to Russia. CSKA have reportedly paid €15 million for the prolific hitman.
Doumbia had attracted the interest of clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart with his impressive performances in Switzerland, but CSKA were the only club ready to match the Young Boys' asking price.
CSKA have already captured VVV Venlo's Keisuke Honda, FC Moscow's Kirill Nababkin and FC Sibir Novosibirsk goalkeeper Sergei Chepchugov this winter.
