The Europa League winners came from a goal down to clinch a last-minute win over the Serie A outfit, with Frank Lampard and Romelu Lukaku both getting on the scoresheetChelsea assistant coach Rui Faria heaped praise on the Blues after they ended their pre-season tour of the United States on a high courtesy of a 2-1 win over Roma.
The Europa League winners were forced to come from behind in Washington, with goals from Frank Lampard and Romelu Lukaku cancelling out Erik Lamela's early effort.
The result gave Chelsea six wins out of seven from their warm-up fixtures as they concluded their pre-season preparations ahead of the Premier League opener against Hull, and Faria believes they are in good shape heading into the new campaign.
"The match was against a good, organised team, and a team that wanted a result, so it was a very good game for us," the Portuguese told the club's official website.
"In the end, winning is not the most important thing in these matches but it's always good to win because of the identity and personality we want to create in the team.
"The most important thing was the way we secured the result."
Chelsea's clash with Hull will take place at Stamford Bridge on August 18.
