thumbnail Hello,

The attacking midfielder has stressed that Vicente del Bosque's men will not take Thursday's encounter against the Confederation Cup minnows lightly

Andres Iniesta says Spain will not underestimate Tahiti ahead of their Confederations Cup encounter while giving the Oceania champions the respect they deserve.

Tahiti were beaten 6-1 by Nigeria in their Group B opener and will face a tough task to keep the reigning European and world champions quiet in Thursday's match.

Nevertheless, Iniesta has made it clear that the match is not about scoring as many goals as possible for Spain.

"Against Tahiti we'll go out to compete and to win. We won't be thinking about how many goals we're going to score against them," the Barcelona midfielder told reporters.

"We'll play with respect and to qualify. We respect Tahiti as we do any other squad."

"It's a privilege to play in Brazil and in Maracana. We'll try to do a good job and win. It's great for us that the people here in Brazil like our style of football."

The game against Tahiti is scheduled to kick off at 21:00CET.
