Rubin Kazan-Wigan Athletic Betting Preview: The hosts should be too good for the Championship side

There is Europa League action this evening in Russia and our tipster is backing a one-sided affair when the Latics travel to Kazan
The top two in Group D meet in the Europa League, with Rubin Kazan hosting Wigan Athletic.

These two sides met in the reverse fixture at the end of October, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw thanks to two first half goals, with Nick Powell grabbing the Latics equaliser. This task should prove to be a lot harder this evening for the English side in Russia though.

Wigan come into this match in terrible form away from home in all competitions. Owen Coyle's men have failed to score in their last eight matches away from the DW Stadium, including their opening Europa League match against Zulte-Waregem.

Coyle's men recorded their first victory in five last weekend, beating Huddersfield Town at home 2-1. Despite that win, William Hill still price them at a long 13/2 (7.50) to take all three points tonight.

Kazan come into this match with an unbelievable Europa League record. Since losing to Chelsea in the first leg of their quarter-final last season, Kurban Berdyev's men have gone 10 matches without defeat in the competition, winning nine of those.

Rubin are currently in poor form in the Russian Premier League, though, so will be hoping their fantastic European form continues this evening to get them back on track. William Hill price them at just 4/9 (1.44) to win with the same firm pricing the draw at 16/5 (4.20).

With Wigan struggling for results away from home and unable to find the back of the net, it's worth investing in Kazan to win to nil at even money (2.00) with William Hill. When you consider Kazan's European record, it will be tough to ignore this price and should allow punters to profit from another tough away day for Owen Coyle's men.
