Van Persie: I Hate Losing
Netherlands forward Robin van Persie has insisted he and his team-mates will be playing to win in their EURO 2008 clash against Romania tonight…
The Oranje have already booked their place in the quarterfinals after impressive victories over 2006 World Cup finalists France and Italy.
Marco van Basten is expected to field a weakened side against Romania, who sit second in Group C, and some have even suggested the Dutch will deliberately put in a sub-par performance to ensure les Bleus and the Azzurri are eliminated.
But Van Persie has dismissed such claims, insisting he does not take kindly to any form of defeat and is expecting a tough encounter with the Tricolorii.
The Arsenal star said: “I hate losing, even a simple game of ping-pong, so as for a football match against Romania...”
“They want and have to win and will go for it 100 percent.”
