Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge says he is determined to establish himself as a key member of the England squad in the future.

The 23-year-old has been called into Roy Hodgson's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro after impressing since his January move to Merseyside.

But, having failed to net in each of his four senior caps for the Three Lions so far, the former Chelsea forward is keen to improve and become indispensible to the national team.

"It's every player's dream to establish themselves as an England regular," Sturridge told reporters.

"Wherever you come from in the world you want to establish yourself in the national team. It's important for you as a player and for your family.

"To help your country be part of successes is special and hopefully I'll be a part of some sort of success with England in the future."

England currently sit in second place in Group H behind Montenegro with eight points from four games.
