Adler & Neustadter called up to Germany squad for Netherlands friendly
The Mannschaft boss has announced the players that will be at his disposal for the upcoming fixture against the Oranje, with the Hamburg goalkeeper returning to the frame
Joachim Low has named Rene Adler and Roman Neustadter amongst his 22-man party for Germany's friendly match with Netherlands on November 14.Having joined Hamburg from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer window, the goalkeeper has been in impressive form since the beginning of the campaign, while the Schalke midfielder has been handed a debut call-up after making a successful switch from Monchengladbach.
"I am delighted that Rene has found his old form after his long injury," Low told reporters. "He should now also get a chance to present himself on an international level."
Low, however, stressed that the decision to select Adler had nothing to do with the performance of the other two glovesmen, but rather the 27-year-old's stellar displays of late.
"This is a decision for Rene Adler and not against Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ron-Robert Zieler, who of course will remain in focus," he explained.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber and Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira will both miss out on the fixture due to injury.
