thumbnail Hello,

The Chelsea striker reached a century of appearances for his country and joined an esteemed list of players to have achieved the feat for La Roja

Fernando Torres continued his resurgence by winning his 100th cap in Spain's friendly clash with Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

The Chelsea striker has become just the sixth player in Spain’s history to achieve the feat, after making his debut as a 19-year-old against Portugal in 2003.

Since making his bow, the 28-year-old has enjoyed an impressive goalscoring record for his country, grabbing 31 goals in his century of appearances.

After a mixed 18 months following his move from Liverpool to Chelsea, Torres scored three goals as Spain went on to lift the European Championship crown over the summer and he could be the first of several current internationals to win 100 caps over the next 12 months.

Carles Puyol is just one cap short of reaching the milestone, while Sergio Ramos is just seven caps away at just 26-years-old.
