Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Renato Augusto was one of the surprise inclusions in the Brazil squad for Wednesday's international friendly against France and the 23-year-old is eagerly anticipating his debut for the Selecao.
"Getting a call-up for the national team has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid. Every Brazilian boy wants to play for the Selecao at some point," Augusto was quoted as saying by Bild.
"It was a great moment for me when I heard the news that I was a part of the team for the France friendly. I was very pleased and satisfied. This is not only a good thing for me, but also for Bayer Leverkusen.
"I will probably play on the right wing like I do for Bayer or play in a more central role."
The winger also discussed his chances to make it to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
"It's still a long time until the 2014 World Cup, but it would be great to be part of the Brazil squad then. I come from Rio de Janeiro and they're currently working on the Maracana stadium to make it ready for the World Cup."
