Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino is set to play for Italy this evening in their Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands. The 28-year-old forward took some time out from training to compliment his national team colleague Antonio Cassano.

"He is very calm and reasoned, Sampdoria and the national side are very fortunate to have Cassano," Gilardino told Arisa.

Cassano helped the Azzurri secure three points in their opening qualifier against Estonia despite being behind for much of the game.
