The Faroe Islands, the next opponents of Italy in the Euro 2012 qualifiers on Tuesday evening, were in disbelief with the facilities they had been given in Florence to prepare for the encounter with the Azzurri.
The islanders had problems with the training ground, especially the condition of the pitch which to led one of their players injuring his ankle. To make matters worse they were restricted to certain areas of the facility, including the showers, reported Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Faroe Island officials were so furious that they left to prepare elsewhere and ended up spending the afternoon yesterday relaxing and sightseeing around Florence. They will train at a new facility tomorrow.
